Speaker Tom Reis, President Ecosphere Restoration. Artesian springs are unique natural occurrences that are relatively rare, but Florida has more naturally flowing springs than anywhere in north America. Unfortunately, many springs have lost significant flows or even dried up completely. Opportunities to enhance or “daylight” former spring runs should be identified and addressed. This presentation will focus on the restoration of the following springs system in the Tampa Bay area: Lowry Park Spring, Ulele Springs, Purity Spring, and Palma Ceia Springs; and will highlight the benefits that spring restoration can provide.
