PE/HYDROGEOLOGIST -Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale, FL
This growing Florida based Environmental Engineering firm is seeking a Mid to Senior
Level Engineer with 7 to 15 years of experience to work in their Orlando or Fort
Lauderdale office. The potential candidate should have a B.S. or M.S. in engineering,
relevant work experience and be familiar with state and local permitting and regulatory
requirements.
The primary duties include responsibility for operation of a Water Resources production
section (including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing
support). The position will function as a project manager and technical lead on selected
projects in addition to management responsibilities. Position is responsible for the
section staff and technical service functions and will lead and coordinate services with
other sections. Position will be directly involved in marketing planning, proposals and
interviews, as well as being directly involved with clients in marketing, project
production and related issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in water
resources projects, such as storm water management and design, water quality
monitoring, targeted pollutant load reduction, roadway drainage, NPDES and/or
TMDLs. Position will work closely with Department Managers and Company Principals to
develop and implement short and long-range operational and marketing strategies for
the company’s Water Resources program.
This is a dynamic company that encourages teamwork and leadership in both technical
study and the community. As a result, their projects are varied and challenging. Strong
written and oral communication skills are required.
Important to note that this individual is not a traditional civil water resources engineer
that has experience designing wastewater treatment, water supply or just storm water
ponds. The individual must be a PE with a love of water and a functional responsibility
of hydrogeologist. This is someone who knows what happens to the flow of water when:
i.e. a culvert is removed or added to a wetland; or issues of contamination – knowledge
of modeling how that pollution might spread through water tables-where it will go and
how it will get there; or for industrial waste water permitting - if we draw water from
"here", what will happen to the water that's over "there".
